B.Braun Vet Care – Veterinary Expertise by B. Braun and Aesculap

B. Braun and Aesculap are two traditional German companies, specialized in medical technology.
The family-owned enterprise B. Braun was founded in 1839 in Melsungen. Today, B. Braun is well known by every Physician and Veterinarian, because of its invention of the IV cannula “Braunüle”, the wide range of cannulae, needles, syringes, central venous catheter systems, specially designed cannulae for spinal anesthesia and the large variety of products for infusion technology as well as infusion-, irrigation-, and parenteral nutrition solutions.

The history of Aesculap started in the year 1867, when Gottfried Jetter, a cutler, first begun to produce surgical instruments in Tuttlingen. Because of its now more than 400 companies specializing in this field, Tuttlingen is also known as the “world capital for medical technology”. Since 1976 Aesculap is part of the B. Braun Company.

Aesculap has set milestones in the world of surgery through its premium quality surgical instruments, the invention of the first surgical electric motor in 1935 and the first surgical compressed air motor in 1967. Today Aesculap focuses on products and services for core processes in surgery. The product range includes surgical instruments for open or minimally invasive approaches, implants, surgical sutures, sterile container, storage, motor and navigation systems, as well as products for cardiology.
From the very beginning, B. Braun and Aesculap always have played an important role in the veterinary world. Meeting the constantly growing requirements of today´s veterinary medicine, B. Braun Vet Care GmbH (BVC) was founded in 2003. This highly specialized branch of B. Braun and Aesculap represents the B. Braun Company in all its facilities within the veterinary world.

Our mission is to introduce high grade quality products and new techniques to veterinarians in order to help them improving their skills and techniques and to facilitate their daily work. We actively exchange knowledge through our network and international continuing education programs.

B. Braun Vet Care is a long-term partner of EVECCS and – by providing reduced registration fees and awards for the best abstracts and poster – supports the submission of scientific abstracts and posters for the annual EVECCS congress from attending veterinarians.
