The European Emergency and Critical Care Society organizes the 8th EVECCS-congress 12th-14th June in Berlin/Germany this year. The topic will be “let it flow” containing fluid therapy, transfusion, perfusion, monitoring and nutrition. State of the art lectures will be held and scientific abstracts and poster will be presented. The pre-congress day is dedicated to the practical approach of different ECC-topics.

This year will continue the technicians program introduced last year. We also have planed wet labs concerning emergency endoscopy and “tubs and things” and haematology, acid-base-analysis, and emergency ultrasound dry labs.
As a new part we introduce a parallel equine program. The focus of the equine precongress day is the colic horse.

The social program will include welcome reception and a boat trip on the river “Spree”.

For further information and registration please visit www.eveccs2009.org

We hope to welcome you this summer in the beautiful city of Berlin.

EVECCS is working to obtain a general picture of the specialty in Europe. With this goal in mind, we created a questionnaire aimed at all centres and professionals involved in ECC.

The survey is now closed, and our thanks go to those who have taken the time to complete the questionnaire. We now have a lot of data to analyse, but we hope to share our insights into the status quo and future potential of this fast-growing specialty in Europe with you in the near future.
