Call for abstracts - Scientific Forum

The EVECCS invites submission of abstracts for short communications at the 7th EVECCS Scientific Program, Gothenburg 29 May - 1 June 2008.

Everyone working in areas related to emergency and critical care is encouraged to submit abstracts or posters. There will be an abstract session for veterinarians and also a session for veterinary nurses/technicians.

Abstracts should represent original research not yet published or presented elsewhere. Abstracts may be presented in either oral or poster format.

Oral presentations must be limited to 12 minutes. There will be 3 additional minutes for questions.

Posters have to be presented in A3 format for viewing throughout the meeting.

Abstracts must be composed in Microsoft Word using Times New Roman 10 point font, using the abstract form posted on the EVECCS website.

Guidelines for submissions are:

• Brief title, clearly indicating the nature of the investigation
• Title in capital letters
• Authors, underlining the name of the presenting author
• State name of institution or practice of the presenting author (including email address)
• Paragraphs within abstracts must be single spaced and indented 3 spaces
• Organise the body of the abstract as follows :
  Objectives of the study
  Materials and methods
  Results and discussion, presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusions
  Conclusions
• Tables and graphs: use only if they are simple and neat. Tables and graphs must be imported into the abstract text. Tables and graphs will not be accepted independent of the abstract-form.
• 400 words maximum

Veterinarian abstract session
Abstracts must be submitted 15th March 2008 to be considered for the veterinarian session.
Confirmation of acceptation/rejection will be given to the presenting author before end April 2008.

Veterinary technicians abstract session
Abstracts must be submitted by 30th March 2008. Confirmation of acceptation/rejection will be given to the presenting author before end April 2008.

Presenting authors are reminded that they must be registered for the meeting.

Presenting authors will get a reduction of 20% in the registration fee.

Selected abstracts will get published in the 7th EVECCS meeting proceedings book.

Abstracts can be submitted via the website or by e-mail using the “EVECCS-abstract form” to : abstracts@eveccs.org
